Darkness Shall Rise Productions has announced November 26th as the international release date for Infernal Presence’s debut full-length, Fiery Paths. The album will be available on CD, vinyl LP, and cassette formats.
Formed only in 2023, the German duo wastes no time in unveiling a record that already carries the weight and precision of a seasoned act. Across six tracks (including a brooding instrumental opener), Fiery Paths forges a searing hybrid of black and death metal. Rather than relying on riff-stacking, Infernal Presence carefully construct dynamic compositions that flow with intent and menace.
The band’s sound evokes the cold, fast tremolo riffs of Dissection and Mayhem, seamlessly colliding with palm-muted thrash assaults and atmospheric arpeggios reminiscent of Watain or Ondskapt. The result is music that shifts tempos and moods with razor-sharp control, luring the listener deeper into its abyss. Standout tracks like Eternal Exodus and the slithering, groove-laden “Tomb Procession” showcase the band’s gift for balance between ferocity and atmosphere.
Although sharing elements with their influences, Fiery Paths ultimately conjures its own suffocating atmosphere, recalling the eerie aura of Negative Plane’s debut or the early works of Secrets of the Moon. The raw yet clear production amplifies this intensity, remaining gritty enough to preserve the feral edge while polished enough to let every sinister detail shine through.
