Old school death metallers Jungle Rot have announced their upcoming 12th full-length album, Cruel Face Of War, set for release on May 15 via Unique Leader Records. Alongside the announcement, the band has unveiled the album’s first single, “Apocalyptic Dawn”, offering fans an early glimpse into the next chapter of their decades-spanning career.

Reflecting on reaching such a milestone, frontman Dave Matrise shares:
“Let’s start off by saying what an amazing accomplishment it is to hit 12 releases in my career. Never would I think I’d still be doing this 30+ years later. I guess be careful what you wish for. I’m very grateful to all of our fans that have supported us for so many years and for never giving up on us.”
He adds:
“‘Cruel Face Of War’ will not disappoint. It’s full of crushing grooves and violent hooks that will surely break anyone’s neck.”

Hailing from Kenosha, Wisconsin, Jungle Rot have spent more than three decades carving out a distinctive place in the underground metal scene. Known for blending death metal with thrash, crossover, crust punk energy, and stomping grooves, the band has built a loyal global following while staying true to their raw and efficient songwriting approach.
Rather than chasing extremes in technicality or brutality alone, Jungle Rot’s identity has always centered on groove-driven aggression and memorable hooks, qualities that continue to define their sound on Cruel Face Of War.
The new album delivers 12 tracks rooted firmly in the band’s trademark OSDM style. Production once again took place with longtime collaborator Chris Djuricic at Bell City Sound Company, while mixing and mastering were handled by acclaimed producer Dan Swanö at Unisound Studio.

Following the album’s release, Jungle Rot will head to Europe this summer to headline the “Back to the Old School Tour”, joined by KHNVM and Rats Of Gomorrah as support. The tour will also include appearances at several major European festivals, bringing the band’s signature groove-heavy brutality to stages across the continent.
