Kamelot Unveil “Sanctuary” as Final Single From New Album ‘Dark Asylum’

Symphonic metallers KAMELOT have unveiled “Sanctuary,” the final single from their forthcoming album, Dark Asylum, arriving this Friday, August 28, via Napalm Records.

Built around pulsating riffs and sweeping cinematic arrangements, “Sanctuary” brings together KAMELOT vocalist Tommy Karevik with Visions of Atlantis singer Clémentine Delauney and Decessus frontwoman Ignacia Fernández for a dynamic three-vocalist performance. The single arrives alongside an official music video that pushes the story of Dark Asylum beyond the walls of the fictional RavenHill Asylum.

Guitarist and founding member Thomas Youngblood explains:

“‘Sanctuary’ represents the moment when the darkness of RavenHill is finally left behind. The song is about hope, freedom and finding your way back to yourself after everything you’ve endured. The video takes the story beyond the walls of RavenHill and gives us a glimpse of life after the escape, a new beginning, but one still shaped by the memories and scars of the past. With Tommy, Clémentine, and Ignacia bringing three distinct voices to the song, it gives ‘Sanctuary’ an emotional depth that perfectly reflects the journey from darkness into light.”

Set within a shadowed Neo-Victorian world, Dark Asylum takes listeners inside RavenHill Asylum, an imposing former cathedral transformed into an institution where science, faith, and madness collide.

The album sees KAMELOT pushing deeper into cinematic and atmospheric territory while retaining the melodic hooks and symphonic grandeur at the core of the band’s sound. Across its 15 tracks, the story explores fractured identity, shifting reality, psychological darkness, and eventual transformation.

KAMELOT have assembled an extensive roster of guests to help bring RavenHill to life. Alongside Delauney and Fernández, Dark Asylum features Avantasia mastermind Tobias Sammet, Eluveitie’s Lea-Sophie Fischer, Rannveig Sif Sigurðardóttir, Sólveig Sara Leupold, and Billy King.

From the cinematic scope of “Ashen World” and the layered atmosphere of “Ivy, My Dear” to the introspection of “Sanctuary,” the album combines orchestral arrangements, heavy riffs, haunting melodies, and theatrical storytelling into an immersive journey through RavenHill.

Dark Asylum was produced by Sascha Paeth and KAMELOT, with mixing and mastering handled by Jacob Hansen.

Coinciding with the album’s release on August 28, KAMELOT will launch the first North American leg of their Dark Asylum World Tour at Hard Rock Live in Orlando, Florida. Visions of Atlantis and Frozen Crown will join the band throughout the run, which continues through September 27 in Silver Spring, Maryland.

The tour will bring the world of RavenHill Asylum to the stage with an immersive new production before KAMELOT continues the campaign with dates across Europe.
