KING DIAMOND will bring a piece of his early catalog back to vinyl this Halloween season with a worldwide reissue of the three-track Halloween picture disc, arriving October 23, 2026 via Metal Blade Records.
Originally released in 1986, the Halloween picture disc returns 40 years later with brand-new artwork created by Mario Lopez. The release collects “Halloween,” “The Candle” and “The Lake,” three tracks originating from KING DIAMOND’s earliest solo era.
Both “Halloween” and “The Candle” appeared on KING DIAMOND’s 1986 debut album, Fatal Portrait. “The Candle” served as the album’s opening track and helped introduce the storytelling approach that would become an increasingly important element of KING DIAMOND’s subsequent work.
“The Lake” was recorded during the same general period and is associated with the Fatal Portrait sessions, but was not included among the original album’s nine tracks.
Halloween was produced by King Diamond and Rune Höyer, with production assistance from guitarist Michael Denner. Roberto Falcao handled engineering.
The new edition arrives October 23 via Metal Blade Records, just over a week before Halloween.
