German speed metal band KNIFE have released the official music video for “Nightmare,” the second single from their upcoming third studio album, Into Your Nightmare, scheduled for release on December 18, 2026, through Napalm Records.
Serving as the album’s opening track, “Nightmare” begins with an atmospheric introduction before transitioning into fast-paced riffs, driving bass lines, and aggressive drumming. The song combines the band’s speed metal foundations with elements of black metal and punk, establishing the musical direction of the upcoming record.
KNIFE have already introduced the track to audiences during their summer festival appearances in 2026.
The band commented:
“‘Nightmare’ has already been baptized by fire during the summer festivals 2026 and it has proven that the KNIFE is still risen in merciless fury. An energetic manifesto of pure speed metal. Follow us Into Your Nightmare.”
Into Your Nightmare explores speed metal, black metal, and punk
The upcoming album continues KNIFE‘s combination of traditional speed metal, black metal, and punk influences. According to the band, Into Your Nightmare takes a heavier and darker approach than their previous releases while incorporating a wider range of musical styles.
The ten-track record moves between aggressive, fast-paced compositions and passages inspired by classic 1980s heavy metal.
Following “Nightmare,” the album continues with “Sulphur,” which draws from traditional rock ‘n’ roll, while “Teeth Of The Devil” incorporates elements of crust punk, thrash, and death metal.
“Sound Of The Requiem Bell” introduces galloping heavy metal rhythms before transitioning into the instrumental “Home Came The Nameless Dead.”
The album’s second half includes “Gehenna,” a speed metal-driven composition featuring melodic passages and a prominent chorus, followed by the darker “Insanity.”
“Raging Metal” revisits the traditional heavy metal influences present on the band’s 2020 demo, Black Leather Hounds, while “Gospel Of The Grotesque” draws inspiration from the extreme metal sounds of the 1980s.
The record concludes with “Shadows,” bringing together several of the musical elements explored throughout the album.
Discussing the upcoming release, KNIFE stated:
“The KNIFE is back to give all you maniax what you need. The Chamber of Storms has opened its gates and out comes the most relentless and versatile piece of sonic steel. We are delivering the goods and you can be sure that we will continue to haunt your dreams forever.”
