LEFT TO DIE have released a new single titled “Witch Of Hell,” taken from their upcoming debut full-length Initium Mortis, due out July 17 via Relapse Records.

“Witch Of Hell” marks the second single from Initium Mortis and draws from some of the earliest live demos tied to the formative years of Death. The track delivers raw, old-school death metal energy, channeling the genre’s earliest blueprint with modern production.
Terry Butler (Obituary, ex-Death) describes the song as “a straight up banger,” highlighting its no-frills, classic death/thrash approach.
LEFT TO DIE is a supergroup featuring original Death members Terry Butler and Rick Rozz (Massacre), alongside Matt Harvey (Exhumed, Gruesome) and Gus Rios (Gruesome). The project is dedicated to revisiting and reinterpreting early material from Death’s demo era and proto-death metal roots.
The band explains that Initium Mortis functions as an “alternate-universe” version of early Death material, reimagining tracks that circulated during the formative years of the genre in the 1980s. Songs such as “Legion Of Doom,” “Archangel,” and “Zombie” showcase the raw origins of what would become death metal.
The album Initium Mortis will be released on CD, vinyl, cassette, and digital formats on July 17.
