Danish death metal and metallic hardcore band LIFESICK have announced their fifth full-length album, When Brutality Becomes The Language, set for release on January 22, 2027, via Metal Blade Records. Alongside the announcement, the band has unleashed a crushing new single, “All Eyes On Me,” accompanied by an official music video.
Combining death metal-inspired riffs, relentless hardcore aggression, and breakdowns, When Brutality Becomes The Language promises to be the band’s most focused. Following their tenth anniversary in 2024, LIFESICK continue refining their signature sound, balancing the raw intensity of hardcore with the unmistakable heaviness of old-school death metal.
Once again, the band enlisted longtime collaborator and former HATESPHERE vocalist Jacob Bredahl, whose involvement has become essential to shaping their sonic identity.
“Jacob understands exactly what we want LIFESICK to sound like and how to push us to get there,” the band explains. “At this point he almost feels like the sixth member of the band.”
The album retains the gritty atmosphere and HM-2-driven guitar tones that have become synonymous with LIFESICK while introducing an even more aggressive approach to songwriting. Lyrically, the record explores survival, confrontation, and resilience, reflecting the harsh realities of life and the determination to emerge stronger from adversity.
LIFESICK unleash “All Eyes On Me”
The newly released single “All Eyes On Me” delivers everything fans have come to expect from the Danish heavyweights: groove-laden riffs, punishing beatdowns, and an explosive closing breakdown designed for maximum destruction in the pit.
Speaking about the track, the band comments:
“‘All Eyes On Me’ is built for the pit. It moves from groovy riffs into heavy beatdown sections and ends in a crushing breakdown made to clear the floor. Lyrically, it’s about being impossible to ignore – growing in someone’s head, refusing to disappear and making sure your name sticks.”
The accompanying music video offers another taste of the aggression awaiting listeners when the album arrives early next year.
The band has also previously released videos for “Hard To Kill,” “Die With Me,” and “At War With You,” all of which appear on the upcoming record.
Guest appearances and album details
Continuing their tradition of collaborating with artists from the hardcore and metal underground, LIFESICK have recruited several guest musicians for the new album.
Jonathan Albrechtsen of ROT AWAY and Victor Kaas of EYES contribute to “No Bark, All Bite,” while Nitisart “Mike” Chaiburi of WHISPERS appears on “Damaged Goods.” Elsewhere, Hallgeir Skretting Enoksen of PURIFIED IN BLOOD lends his talents to “Scum,” and Christoffer Bach Kofoed of NECKBREAKER joins the band on “Assassination Culture.”
The album was mastered by Brad Boatright, whose extensive credits include NAILS, OBITUARY, CODE ORANGE, YOB, and CORROSION OF CONFORMITY.
When Brutality Becomes The Language will be available on CD, digital platforms, and vinyl, including a limited European red-and-black splatter edition restricted to 500 copies.
