Legendary guitarist and vocalist LITA FORD has released her new single, “Dracula,” through Frontiers Music Srl. The track marks her first new music following her recent signing with the label and offers an early preview of what fans can expect from the guitarist in 2027.

Produced by Gary Hoey and mixed by Max Norman, “Dracula” features FORD alongside Hoey, with Bobby Rock handling drums. The single arrives with an accompanying official music video.

Drawing inspiration from the seductive and dangerous nature of its titular character, “Dracula” explores themes of manipulation, control, and the consequences of becoming entangled in a destructive relationship.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the song, FORD explains:

“‘Dracula’ is a song about an entity that represents seduction and control, eventually draining you of your life and everything in it. But there’s something fun about flirting with disaster, making ‘Dracula’ a playful fantasy. The moaning slide guitars take on a life force all their own. Menacing!”

The release marks another chapter in FORD’s career, which began in 1976 when she joined THE RUNAWAYS as lead guitarist. The pioneering all-female rock band gained recognition with songs such as “Cherry Bomb” and “Queens of Noise” before disbanding in 1979.

FORD launched her solo career with Out for Blood in 1983, followed by Dancin’ on the Edge in 1984, which featured the single “Gotta Let Go” and earned her a Grammy nomination.

Her commercial breakthrough came with 1988’s self-titled album, Lita, which achieved multi-platinum status and produced two of her most recognizable songs, “Kiss Me Deadly” and “Close My Eyes Forever,” the latter featuring a duet with OZZY OSBOURNE.

Throughout the following decades, FORD continued releasing music, including Stiletto, Dangerous Curves, Black, and Living Like a Runaway, maintaining her presence in the hard rock and heavy metal scenes.

Her contributions to rock music have earned her several honors, including the Guitar Player Lifetime Achievement Award, the Guitar Player Certified Legend Award, and induction into the Guitar Player Hall of Fame. In 2017, she received the First Lady of Rock Guitar honor at the She Rocks Awards.

In 2021, her signature B.C. Rich Warlock guitar was added to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame’s permanent collection.

Halloween Weekend Performances

To coincide with the release of “Dracula,” LITA FORD will perform two special shows during Halloween weekend.

The first takes place October 30 at the Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, followed by an October 31 performance at Agua Caliente Resort Casino in Rancho Mirage, California.

The new single is available now through Frontiers Music Srl, with an official music video accompanying the release. Additional details regarding FORD’s upcoming music in 2027 have yet to be announced.
