German genre-bending dark rock band Lord of the Lost have unveiled their latest single “My Funeral”, offering another glimpse into their upcoming album OPVS NOIR Vol. 3. The record arrives April 10 via Napalm Records, completing the band’s ambitious OPVS NOIR trilogy.
The Hamburg-based six-piece continue to blur stylistic boundaries with their distinctive fusion of heavy guitars, dark electronic textures, orchestral arrangements, and theatrical storytelling.
Watch “My Funeral”
“My Funeral” captures the band’s trademark mix of melancholy, irony, and theatricality. In the lyrics, frontman Chris Harms declares black as his “happy color”, while humorously requesting that mourners wear pink to his funeral.
Harms explains the concept with typical dark wit:
“The message of the song — that black is our happy color and that I want my funeral guests to follow the dress code ‘pink’ — is actually no joke.”
The music video visually reinforces this playful contrast, combining mourning imagery with unexpected color symbolism.
The Final Chapter of OPVS NOIR
OPVS NOIR Vol. 3 concludes the trilogy that began earlier in 2025 with the releases of Vol. 1 and Vol. 2. The final installment pushes the band’s sonic experimentation even further, weaving together industrial elements, symphonic textures, gothic rock, and metal.
The album also features several notable collaborations, including:
- Saltatio Mortis
- Wednesday 13

- Cats in Space

With nearly half a million Spotify listeners and a rapidly expanding global fanbase, the group continues to prove itself as one of the most dynamic acts in modern gothic and alternative metal.
