Ottawa, Canada’s power metal band Lycanthro has dropped their highly anticipated second studio album, Remnants of Rapture, today, May 23, 2025, via Psychomanteum Records. The 10-track release delivers a fierce blend of power, thrash, and traditional heavy metal, inspired by genre giants like Savatage, W.A.S.P., and Blind Guardian. The album, mixed and mastered by Damien Rainaud (DragonForce, Fear Factory), features guest appearances from Laura Guldemond (Burning Witches) on “The Great Masquerade,” Stu Block (Into Eternity, ex-Iced Earth) on “Night of the Parasite,” and Arttu Vauhonen (Arion) with a keyboard solo on “Iris,” alongside other contributors like Julie Belanger-Roy (violin) and Marialena Trikoglou (opera vocals).

The band—James Delbridge (vocals/guitars), Andrew Stout (guitars), Everett Mayhew (bass), and Kyle Summers (drums)—describes the album as a labor of love, born from “blood, sweat, tears, and even a burnt-down city.” Building on their 2021 debut Mark of the Wolf, Remnants of Rapture dives into themes of mythology, classic horror, and personal struggle, with tracks like “Cry Silver” and the instrumental “Lost Jerusalem” showcasing their dynamic storytelling. Alongside the album, Lycanthro released a music video for “Far Beyond the Walls,” filmed at their 2024 Power Metal Quest Fest performance in Birmingham, UK, capturing their live energy as a unifying anthem for metalheads.
