Italian-Finnish black metal trio Margantha have released their chilling new single Wolves At The Door, the latest preview from their debut concept EP, Blood Moon Sacrifice, set for release on June 27, 2025, through Rockshots Records. The track, premiered on June 13, 2025, delves into the darkest chapter of the EP’s werewolf mythos, with the band stating: “Wolves At The Door marks the beginning of the end: a dark chapter where horror takes root within the home. A father, transformed into a werewolf, lays siege to his own house, trying to devour what remains of his family.” Mixed and mastered by King Diamond’s Andy LaRocque at Sonic Train Studio, the single is a visceral blend of raw black metal and gothic horror, available now on YouTube and major streaming platforms.

Wolves At The Door is a cinematic black metal performance, driven by Nocturnus II’s unnerving riffs, Nocturnus I’s acidic vocals, and Nocturnus III’s relentless drumming. The track’s suspenseful atmosphere and narrative intensity depict a lone werewolf—symbolized as a “nocturnal, primal creature”—threatening a village family. The band’s focus on storytelling over technical showmanship creates an immersive experience, with MetalTalk praising its “intense, dark driver” quality.

Blood Moon Sacrifice is a four-track concept EP rooted in a werewolf legend passed down by Nocturnus I’s grandmother, set in a hunters’ village beneath a remote mountain range. The songs—Blood Moon Sacrifice, Curse of the Full Moon, Miriam and the Endless Night (featuring a guitar solo by Andy LaRocque), and Wolves At The Door—narrate key moments of this oral tale, blending raw black metal with melodic and atmospheric elements. Mixed and mastered by LaRocque, the EP evokes the spirit of Mgła, Uada, and Behemoth, while drawing from gothic literature (Bram Stoker, Mary Shelley) and art (Caravaggio, Bosch). GRIMM Gent lauds its “captivating result” of horror and cultural fusion.

Formed by three anonymous musicians—Nocturnus I (vocals/bass, Finland), Nocturnus II (guitars, Italy), and Nocturnus III (drums, Finland)—Margantha is a black metal project rooted in anonymity, letting their music speak unburdened by past identities. Their sound merges Italian and Finnish musical traditions, inspired by Celtic Frost, Venom, and King Diamond, alongside modern acts like Gaerea and Naglfar. The band’s horror aesthetics, reflected in their 19th-century gothic imagery, draw from classic literature and art, creating a macabre, immersive experience. Their live shows aim for relentless emotional impact, with Metal-Rules noting their “clear musical and visual identity.”
