Norwegian black metal pioneers MAYHEM have released a chilling new music video for “Realm Of Endless Misery”, the latest single from their forthcoming seventh studio album, Liturgy Of Death.

Arriving just as the band launches their Death Over Europe headlining tour, “Realm Of Endless Misery” continues MAYHEM’s uncompromising exploration of mortality, existential collapse, and spiritual desolation. The track offers no catharsis, only confrontation, presenting human existence as a closed system governed by repetition, fear, and decay.
Vocalist Attila Csihar explains:
“‘Realm of Endless Misery’ presents a state of human existence in which suffering is not an exception but a governing principle. The song portrays human life as a closed realm sustained by repetition, fear, and manipulation, where time itself becomes a mental trap and hope slowly drains from consciousness. It does not tell a story and offers no redemption.”
He continues:
“Through its mantra-like structure and cold, oppressive imagery, the track confronts the listener with the mechanics of misery, revealing a world in which destruction is not an endpoint but a permanent condition.”
Liturgy Of Death marks MAYHEM’s seventh full-length release and finds the legendary outfit turning their creative focus toward the inevitability of death—not as an ending, but as a universal law. Drawing from ancient philosophical perspectives, the album frames life as a transitional state and death as a gateway to higher existence, urging listeners to embrace intensity in the face of impermanence.
