Florida death metal veterans Monstrosity have released a new video for “Banished To The Skies”, the crushing opening track from their latest full-length Screams From Beneath The Surface, available now via Metal Blade Records.
The song sets the tone for the album with a devastating mix of technical precision, ferocious speed, and dark melodic passages, hallmarks of the band’s signature death metal sound.

A Powerful Opening Statement
Drummer and founding member Lee Harrison originally wrote “Banished To The Skies” during the mixing sessions for the band’s previous album The Passage of Existence.

The track showcases:
- intricate hi-hat and ride cymbal work
- Harrison’s relentless double bass drumming
- prominent bass lines from Mark Van Erp
- a searing guitar solo by Matt Barnes
The performance is further elevated by the debut appearance of vocalist Ed Webb, whose guttural delivery injects new energy into the band’s sound.
The video was filmed in Nashville, Tennessee by Malcolm Pugh, guitarist of Inferi.
Released seven years after The Passage of Existence, Screams From Beneath The Surface marks Monstrosity’s long-awaited return with a revitalized lineup and a renewed sense of intensity.
The album combines the band’s classic Florida death metal brutality with modern production and songwriting depth.
Recording took place across two legendary studios:
- Audiohammer Studios, where drums, bass, and mixing were handled by producer Jason Suecof (known for work with The Black Dahlia Murder, Deicide, and Job for a Cowboy)
- Morrisound Recording, where guitars, vocals, and mastering were completed with legendary producer Jim Morris, alongside Mark Prator and BJ Ramone.
The combination of modern engineering and classic Florida death metal production gives the record a massive and punishing sound.
Monstrosity will return to Europe this spring for the Screams Across Europe Tour 2026, joined by:
- Bio-Cancer
- Reject the Sickness
- Deadwood
