Houston’s black-metallers NECROFIER return with Transcend Into Oblivion, their most ambitious and immersive work to date, and first release under their new label home, Metal Blade Records, due out February 27th, 2026.
Since 2018, NECROFIER have forged a sound that merges the frostbitten spirit of mid-’90s Norwegian black metal with the searing intensity of Texas extremity. Transcend Into Oblivion refines that vision into a modern black-metal classic, balancing ferocity, haunting melody, and occult atmosphere with newfound narrative depth.
Frontman/guitarist Bakka reveals that the band’s third album is structured around a Luciferian “Dark Night of the Soul”, presented as:
- Three acts,
- Each containing three movements,
- Separated by three instrumentals, an obsessive architecture of transformation, turmoil, and transcendence.
“This album ended up exactly where I always wanted us to go,” Bakka comments. “It reflects a journey—chaos, awakening, accession. What we did before doesn’t compare to what we achieved here.”
New Single: “Servants Of Darkness, Guide My Way I”
The first unveiled chapter from Act II, the single plunges into the torment and psychological upheaval of awakening.
“The descent into darkness to be reborn,” Bakka explains. “Trials that shape you while they drive you mad.”

Transcend Into Oblivion was recorded at Southwing Studios and House Of Thorns in Houston, produced/engineered by Joel Hamilton with assistant engineering by Chris Kritikos, and mixed by Hamilton at Studio G (Brooklyn, NY).
