Drawing from J.R.R. Tolkien’s tragic tale of Túrin Turambar and his sister Nienor, Dreadful Leap unfolds as a dirge of sorrow and bitter triumph. The Nine describe the track as “a retelling of Túrin’s slaying of Glaurung, and the cruel revelation that follows when Nienor’s memory is restored.” With Hulder embodying the Tear Maiden, the song captures a moment where grief and doom entwine as destiny takes its toll.
The band reflects:
“The page turns, and old sorceries die… Thus do we, the Nine, lift our voices in the retelling, to proffer a glimpse upon the Dawn of the Iron Shadow.”
The album’s cover art was created by renowned Tolkien illustrator Ted Nasmith, known for his work on The Lord of the Rings, The Silmarillion, and Unfinished Tales.
