Canadian modern metal band OSYRON have released their new single, “Higher,” alongside an official music video. The track serves as the first preview of the band’s forthcoming self-titled fifth studio album, Osyron, due November 27, 2026, via Distortion Music Group (DMG), powered by Reigning Phoenix Music.
The arrival of “Higher” also marks the launch of pre-sales for the new album and the beginning of a new chapter for the Canadian outfit following their signing with Distortion Music Group.
Built around heavy, polyrhythmic guitar work, melodic hooks and contrasting vocal styles, “Higher” moves between atmospheric passages and a considerably heavier attack.
Guitarist Bobby Harley explains why the band selected the track to introduce the new record:
“We chose this song as the first single because we feel it’s a great representation of the band as we are now, and a good overall idea of the album. We wanted you to be able to sing the chorus right back to us after hearing it for the first time, but then leave you with a sore neck from the outro. It has all you love in an Osyron song – catchy chorus, heavy verses, dual guitar harmonies, drums, and even vocals.”
Despite opening the campaign for the band’s newest material, parts of “Higher” have been developing for more than a decade.
“Also, this is one of those tracks where the foundation is much older than you’d expect. The riffs and polyrhythmic patterns in the verses and outro were pulled from an idea Tyler wrote back in 2013. It finally felt like the right time to revive it, bringing it to life collaboratively with many more years of musical growth behind us.”
OSYRON Sign With Distortion Music Group
The upcoming album will also be OSYRON’s first release through Distortion Music Group.
Speaking about the partnership, the band said:

A New Chapter for OSYRON
Formed in 2012, OSYRON currently consists of vocalist Reed Alton, guitarists Krzysztof Stalmach and Bobby Harley, bassist Tyler Corbett, and drummer Cody Anstey.
The band’s previous album, Momentous, arrived in November 2022 and helped expand OSYRON’s international profile. Singles including “Dominion Day,” “Beyond the Sun” and “Anunnaki” received placement on Spotify’s All New Metal playlist, while “The Deafening” featured guest appearances from Stu Block and Percival Schuttenbach.
Momentous has since surpassed 174,000 Spotify streams, and OSYRON earned a nomination for Metal Band of the Year at the 2023 Western Canadian Music Awards.
The band has also shared stages with acts including Nightwish, Insomnium, Evergrey, Dark Tranquillity, Kamelot, DragonForce, Amorphis, Kreator, Destruction and Hypocrisy.
OSYRON made their European festival debut at Rock Castle in Czechia in 2023 before embarking on a 16-date North American tour supporting Seven Kingdoms. They returned to Europe in 2024 for another six-date run, including an appearance at Masters of Rock alongside artists including Judas Priest, Bruce Dickinson, Avantasia and Accept.
Osyron Arrives November 27
The forthcoming Osyron will be the band’s fifth full-length album and centers thematically on overcoming adversity, finding purpose and pursuing one’s telos — the idea of an ultimate purpose or end goal.
According to the band, the record represents both their development over the past decade and their current identity, while pushing the heavier, melodic and atmospheric elements of their established sound further.
Osyron will be released November 27, 2026, through Distortion Music Group.
