Orlando, Florida-based symphonic black metal band Pontifex have released a new single and music video for Blood Acre, available now. The track showcases the band’s unique blend of ambient and symphonic black metal elements with the aggression of thrash and death metal, pushing beyond traditional genre boundaries.
Formed with a mission to transcend the limitations of conventional black metal, Pontifex released their debut album, …From the Pale Mist, in May 2024, featuring drum performances by Mike Smith, former drummer of death metal pioneers Suffocation. The band is currently preparing their second album, Covenant, slated for release in Summer 2025.
