Alternative metal pioneers PRONG have announced their self-titled debut for Napalm Records, Prong, set for release on November 6. Marking a new chapter for the New York veterans, the album features 11 new tracks blending the band’s signature mix of industrial metal, thrash, alternative rock, and New York hardcore.

Frontman Tommy Victor described the release as a defining moment for the band:

“This could be the best PRONG album to date. It’s definitely the best sounding PRONG album ever, with the incredible Andy Sneap mixing and mastering it! This record represents a new lease on life for PRONG with a new label, a fresh attitude with faster and heavier songs, bigger hooks and top-notch sound quality. That’s why it’s self-titled; it’s a redefining episode for PRONG.”

Emerging from New York City’s legendary CBGB scene in the late 1980s, PRONG forged a distinctive sound that combined hardcore aggression, groove-driven riffs, industrial textures, and melodic hooks. Albums such as Beg to Differ and Cleansing helped establish the band as influential figures in alternative and groove metal, while appearances on MTV’s Headbangers Ball and performances at festivals including Wacken, Rockpalast, and Brutal Assault cemented their reputation.

The new album opens with The Banner, which pairs aggressive thrash riffs with soaring choruses, while tracks such as New Commission, The Uprising, and Fear the Sun showcase the band’s trademark balance of crushing heaviness and memorable songwriting. Uncertain Truth highlights a more melodic side, and closing track Our Continuance brings the record to an intense finale with layered synths, crushing breakdowns, and an expansive chorus.

Mixed and mastered by Andy Sneap at Backstage Studios, Prong explores themes including truth, self-restraint, justice, and altruism while delivering the band’s most polished production to date.
