Spanish avant-garde black/doom metal band PYLAR have released “Enajenación,” the latest preview from their forthcoming full-length album, Delyrio, which arrives July 10 through Cavsas, the extreme music imprint of Cyclic Law.
Described as the opening chapter in the band’s final album cycle, Delyrio continues PYLAR’s exploration of metaphysical themes, lucid delirium, and sonic experimentation. Building upon the cosmic horror and existential concepts explored in previous releases, the new record abandons conventional structures in favor of a constantly shifting soundscape where time, identity, and reality dissolve into an intense hallucinatory experience.
The band describes its creative approach through the “Law of Salazar,” a conceptual framework that reshapes traditional metal into something more fluid and abstract. Drawing inspiration from philosophical fiction, speculative realism, and the writings of thinkers including Reza Negarestani, Amy Ireland, and the Cybernetic Culture Research Unit, PYLAR crafts a work that pushes beyond the boundaries of extreme metal.
Spanning four expansive compositions, Delyrio blends elements of avant-garde black metal, doom, psychedelia, industrial music, and ritualistic atmospheres into a dense sonic journey. While listeners may detect echoes of bands such as SWANS, ORANSSI PAZUZU, and TEITANBLOOD, PYLAR transforms those influences into a distinctive and uncompromising vision rooted in its own artistic philosophy.
The album was produced and composed by the band, with recording, mixing, and mastering handled at “La Mina” by the group’s so-called “Alchemical Master,” described as its sixth heretical member. Cover artwork features fragments created by Gonzalo Santana, accompanied by additional conceptual writings from Francisco Tójar Pérez and Bar-gal.
