Italian symphonic power metal band TEMPERANCE have announced their seventh studio album, Arcani, set for release on October 16 via Napalm Records. Inspired by the Major Arcana of the Tarot, the album explores the symbolism behind each card across 13 new tracks, blending the band’s signature symphonic power metal with deeply personal storytelling.
Coinciding with the announcement, the band has unveiled the album’s first single, “The Devil: Sin, Sin, Sin.” Centered on the Devil card—the fifteenth trump of the Major Arcana—the song combines dramatic orchestration, powerful vocal performances, and a dark melodic atmosphere that showcases the group’s trademark interplay between its three vocalists.
Guitarist and vocalist Marco Pastorino commented on the new single:
“We’ve decided to begin our journey into the world of Arcani with a brand-new metal anthem for our upcoming setlists. ‘Sin, Sin, Sin’ embodies The Devil card, opening the gates to the world of Tarot within the context of TEMPERANCE. Are you ready to fall into sin?”
While Arcani is not presented as a traditional concept album, each song draws inspiration from a different Tarot card, weaving together individual narratives connected by themes of transformation, fate, balance, hope, and self-discovery. According to the band, the album also features their most personal lyrics to date, written collaboratively during group sessions that strengthened the creative bond between the five members.
Pastorino added:
“Arcani features 13 incredible new songs that we’ve worked tirelessly on over the past year, and we are confident they will become an essential part of our live show. Epic symphonic arrangements, harmonies woven through our three distinctive voices, huge metal guitar solos, and fantastic production await listeners. After our adventures around the globe supporting Hermitage, we’ve returned with something magical once again.”
The album opens with “The Fool,” introducing the Tarot-inspired journey before progressing through tracks such as “The Magician: Into the Fire,” “Death: Right Before We Die,” and “The Tower: Lean Into Fear.” The latter explores a harder rock direction while allowing vocalist Kristin Starkey to showcase her dynamic range. Other highlights include the multilingual “The Chariot: Alla Ricerca dell’America,” the uplifting “Justice: Balance,” and the acoustic closing piece “The World,” which mirrors the symbolism of the final Major Arcana card.

Arcani will be available in several formats, including limited-edition colored vinyl, standard black vinyl, CD digipak editions, an instrumental companion CD, and digital platforms.
Following the album’s release, TEMPERANCE will join KAMELOT and EXIT EDEN on the European leg of the Dark Asylum World Tour beginning in late October, with performances scheduled across the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Poland, Hungary, and several additional European countries.
