Swedish heavy metal band SABATON have announced an expanded edition of their eleventh studio album, Legends, scheduled for release on March 5, 2027, through Better Noise Music. The announcement arrives alongside a new single, “Berserker,” accompanied by an official lyric video.
The deluxe edition expands upon the original album, released October 17, 2025, and will be available across multiple physical and digital formats.
An additional music video for “Berserker,” featuring actor Eric Roberts, is scheduled to premiere on Monday, November 9, at 9:00 AM EST.
“Berserker” explores Scandinavian history and mythology
The new single draws inspiration from Scandinavian history and the legendary Viking warriors known as berserkers.
According to the band, the composition began taking shape several years ago but was held back until they felt it was ready for release.
The track combines the group’s established heavy metal sound with themes drawn from their Scandinavian heritage.
Bassist Pär Sundström explained the significance of the song:
“‘Berserker’ breathes Scandinavian influences, so the Viking theme came naturally. It’s close to our own roots and our own history, and that gave the song a special meaning for us.”
The upcoming official music video revisits the legend of a berserker at the Battle of Stamford Bridge, combining historical imagery with a narrative that moves between the present and the past.
The video will feature actor Eric Roberts, while the newly released lyric video provides an initial visual presentation of the song.
Legends (Deluxe) expands the band’s latest album
Originally released in October 2025, Legends marked a shift in SABATON‘s historical focus.
Following several albums centered primarily on the First and Second World Wars, the band broadened its subject matter to explore historical figures and events from earlier periods.

The expanded release will be available as a deluxe CD, three-CD digibook, double vinyl, and several exclusive vinyl editions.
A collector’s box set will also be offered, containing the deluxe album, additional Storyteller and Symphonic versions, a 76-page hardcover book, a Legends world map flag, and five signed lithographs.
