Italian hard rockers SPEED STROKE have unveiled the official video for “Heart Of The City,” the third single from their forthcoming album, Damage Control, set for release on August 21 via Scarlet Records.
Despite its title, “Heart Of The City” explores isolation and the tension between the safety of staying within your own space and the temptation to embrace the uncertainty and excitement waiting outside. Its accompanying video takes that concept away from the city entirely, placing the band in a remote cabin while drawing inspiration from horror classics including Evil Dead 2, The Lost Boys, and Richard Matheson’s I Am Legend.
The track follows previous singles “Glorious Breakdown” and “Italian Coglione” in previewing Damage Control, SPEED STROKE’s fourth studio album.
Blending the modern edge of Scandinavian sleaze rock with the swagger and energy of ’80s street metal, SPEED STROKE deliver a record built around hard-driving riffs, melodic hooks, solos and raw vocals. The album’s central theme explores the fight-or-flight dilemma: whether to control the damage already done or deliberately disrupt the comfort and stability that can prevent change.
Damage Control was mixed and mastered by Erik Mårtensson of Eclipse at Mass Destruction Production, whose credits also include Sinner and Primal Fear. The record features Dario Capacci of Trick Or Treat on drums, while Giorgia Colleluori of Sinner and IT’sALIE contributes guest vocals to “Blessed By Misery.” Cover artwork was created by Claudio Elias Scialabba.
The album will be available on CD, vinyl and digital formats.
