German power metallers STORMHAMMER have unveiled the official music video for their latest single, “Scars Of The Abyss,” offering another powerful glimpse into their upcoming studio album, Wrath Of The Hammer, due for release on July 17 via ROAR – A Division of Reigning Phoenix Music.
Blending crushing guitar riffs, soaring melodies, and an epic atmosphere, “Scars Of The Abyss” captures the band’s signature fusion of classic European power metal and contemporary heaviness. The track highlights STORMHAMMER’s continued evolution while remaining firmly rooted in the traditional heavy metal sound that has defined the band for decades.
Bassist and backing vocalist Horst Tessmann explained the song’s significance:
“Scars Of The Abyss is one of the songs that best reflects the blend of old-school power metal and modern heaviness that defines this album.”
The new single serves as another preview of Wrath Of The Hammer, a record that expands the band’s sonic palette with thrash-inspired guitars, progressive flourishes, and anthemic choruses while maintaining their unmistakable power metal identity.
Guitarist Christos Efstathiou described the album as a creative leap forward:

Lead vocalist M.Nox echoed that sentiment, revealing the band’s intention to push beyond conventional power metal by integrating thrash, symphonic, and classic metal influences into the songwriting.
Recorded at Mastersound Studio with producer Alexander Krull, Wrath Of The Hammer promises a massive production, atmospheric arrangements, and renewed creative energy from a band determined to continue evolving.
