Italian symphonic power metal band TEMPERANCE have released their third single, “The Tower: Lean Into Fear,” taken from their upcoming studio album, Arcani, due October 16, 2026 via Napalm Records.
Driven by heavy, hard-rocking riffs and the commanding vocals of Kristin Starkey, “The Tower: Lean Into Fear” reveals a heavier side of TEMPERANCE while continuing the Tarot-inspired theme that runs throughout Arcani. Each of the album’s 13 tracks draws inspiration from a different card of the Major Arcana.
Speaking about the new single, Starkey explains:
“‘The Tower’ is one of the more feared cards to draw in a tarot reading, which can be summarized as the soul needing to go through great trial and tribulation to grow and flourish. Sometimes the right path is the most painful one, and sometimes we need to lean into that fear to become the best versions of ourselves.”
She continues:
“We try to avoid these pains, but once one realizes that these pains, scars, and trials are necessary for learning life’s lessons, we flourish. Lean into fear.”

TEMPERANCE Explore the Major Arcana on Arcani
While Arcani is not a traditional concept album, its 13 songs are structured around the divinatory practice of Tarot, with each track representing a different Major Arcana card.
The album combines TEMPERANCE’s established blend of symphonic arrangements, melodic metal and multiple vocalists while exploring some of the band’s most personal material to date.
Opening track “The Fool” introduces the record with uplifting melodies and powerful duet vocals, while “The Magician: Into the Fire” shifts the focus toward its male vocalists. “Death: Right Before We Die” takes a more emotional approach, drawing from a personal experience shared by members of the band.
“The Tower: Lean Into Fear” introduces a hard rock element to TEMPERANCE’s sound, while tracks including “The Devil: Sin, Sin, Sin,” “Temperance: Forgiveness,” “Justice: Balance” and “The Star: Surrender Control” continue to connect their musical identities with the symbolism of their respective Tarot cards.
The record concludes with “The World,” an acoustic guitar-driven track led predominantly by female vocals, reflecting the final card of the Major Arcana and bringing Arcani to a sense of completion.

Following the album’s release, TEMPERANCE will join KAMELOT and EXIT EDEN for the European leg of KAMELOT’s Dark Asylum World Tour. The run begins November 1 at London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire and continues through the UK and Europe before concluding November 22 in Madrid.
