The band forges their signature sound, a sinister blend of dark Americana and blackened metal, where howling guitars intertwine with spectral melodies and sepulchral rhythm. It is both a sermon and a curse, a requiem for redemption and a hymn for the damned.
Formed in 2013 in Jacksonville, Florida, THE NOCTAMBULANT arose from the ashes of a psychobilly band to forge a new path, blending Appalachian folklore with the ferocity of blackened death metal. Founders E. Helvete (vocals, guitars) and D. Franseth (drums) envisioned a sound that captures the ghosts, myths, and eerie legends of the American South. Joined by Lars Goerschafft (bass) and Rev. Beaumont (lead guitar), they’ve created an immersive and unrelenting sonic world steeped in Southern Gothic darkness.
Drawing influence from Venom, Celtic Frost, Bathory, and Dark Funeral, THE NOCTAMBULANT’s music is both feral and spiritual — black metal baptized in moonlight and grave soil. Their forthcoming album, due in 2026, promises to expand on this mythology of Southern horror and redemption.
