Featuring members of Horrendous and Crypt Sermon, The Silver will release their highly anticipated sophomore album, Looking Glass Hymnal Blue, on March 20, 2026, via Gilead Media.

Following their 2021 debut Ward of Roses, which paired black and post-black metal with emotive melodies, Looking Glass Hymnal Blue fulfills its promise: it dazzles, terrifies, and elevates, carrying listeners far beyond the ordinary. Evoking the grandeur of opera, the album’s epics are inlaid like crown jewels, and its latest single, “When the Moon is Three”, showcases the band at the peak of their artistic vision.

N. Duchemin on the track:

“‘When the Moon is Three’ walks the listener through worlds of discovery; facing the unknown, the initiate dons the mask of fear as they are plunged through the hidden world of the mind. Upon returning from their journey, they are forever changed.”

The album represents a profound exploration of both musical and emotional depth. Guitarist/vocalist V explains:

“Our prior release, Ward of Roses, was largely a leap of faith. We had little experience working together musically and began the project with only a shared vision, discovering along the way what we were capable of. With Looking Glass Hymnal Blue, we had our blueprint and aimed to make it bigger, more ambitious, and distinctly us. The music had to be ornate and spacious enough to carry the weight of the concepts we were exploring.”

The album’s visual world, designed by acclaimed artist Paul Romano, complements the music perfectly, incorporating mirrors, refraction, the double, and mythological symbolism to echo the record’s lyrical themes.

N. Duchemin adds insight on the lyrics:

“Each song is a representation of internal reflection, musing, or suffering. The words explore battles with ideas of self, attempts to change one’s mental lens, or journeys through the realm of dreams.”

V concludes:

“To listen to Looking Glass Hymnal Blue is to gaze into a mirror of multifarious reflections. Each song is both a hymn and a key, a rite to trespass beyond the door within.”

Recorded with engineer Richie DeVon in Philadelphia, and mixed and mastered by Damian Herring, Looking Glass Hymnal Blue is set for release March 20, 2026. Pre-order the LP here
