American death metal band Tithe, formed in 2017 in Portland, Oregon, has released their lead single The Fruits Of Spiritual Apartheid from their demoralizing third album Communion In Anguish, set for release on September 19, 2025, via Profound Lore Records. Streaming as of July 29, 2025, the track exposes “mankind embracing idealistic beliefs to justify genocide and endless wars,” with religious dogma dehumanizing perceived enemies, as stated by the band.

Building on 2023’s Inverse Rapture, Communion In Anguish intensifies Tithe’s hypnotic, grinding death metal with influences from doom, grind, and black metal, amplified by Alex Huddleston’s low-register growls alongside Matt Eiseman’s distressed wails and Kevin Swartz’s driving rhythms.

Produced and engineered by Keith Merrow at Merrowsound Studios, with haunting artwork by Mitchell Nolte, the album critiques spiritual and societal hypocrisy across seven tracks, culminating in a “lethal sound.”

The trio—Matt Eiseman (vocals/guitar), Alex Huddleston (vocals/bass), and Kevin Swartz (drums)—converges to create a sonic assault larger than its parts. The band supports the release with a hometown show on September 18, 2025, at Mississippi Studios in Portland, OR, alongside Conan and Mares Of Thrace, with more West Coast dates forthcoming.
