Oakland, California’s death metal band Vastum starts their Violations On The Cross US Tour 2025 this Thursday, March 27. Known for their brutal live shows and five albums over 12 years with 20 Buck Spin, they’ve built a name in the underground scene. The lineup—vocalist Daniel Butler, guitarist/vocalist Leila Abdul-Rauf, drummer Adam Perry, bassist Colin Tarvin, and guitarist Greg Brace—delivers a heavy, dark sound with a relentless drive.

The tour spans 13 shows, starting in Tacoma at Real Art Tacoma and ending April 11 in Atlanta at Atlanta Utility Works. Goetia supports most dates, with Vastum headlining Disemboweled God Fest 2025 in Seattle alongside Deteriorot and Impaled. They’ll also perform at Decibel Magazine’s Metal & Beer Fest 2025 in Philadelphia with Exodus, Dismember, and Pig Destroyer.

Their latest album, Inward To Gethsemane, dropped in 2023 via 20 Buck Spin. Recorded by Greg Wilkinson at Earhammer Studios and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege, it’s a grim dive into despair with Butler’s artwork setting the tone. Decibel Magazine gave it a 9/10, calling it “mean, dark, so human.” Stream it on YouTube or grab it on LP, CD, or digital at 20 Buck Spin’s webshop or Bandcamp. Catch Vastum on tour they are definitely a death metal must-see.
