Pensacola, Florida-based melodic blackened death metal project VITHIAL has officially unleashed its debut full-length album, Awakened Ancient Spirits. Marking the occasion, the solo act has released a full-length lyric video showcasing the entire record, offering listeners an immersive journey through its dark fantasy-inspired world.
Created and driven by multi-instrumentalist David Dwayne, VITHIAL explores themes of the occult, spirituality, mortality, mythology, and creation across the album’s expansive narrative. The record combines tales of transcendence with warnings of damnation, weaving together a collection of songs unified by shadowy, introspective themes.

Originally conceived in late 2023 as a collaborative project, VITHIAL gradually evolved into David Dwayne’s fully independent creative vision. Early demo material captured the project’s formative experimentation, but Awakened Ancient Spirits represents its definitive artistic statement, refining those influences into a cohesive and fully realized debut.
