Canadian progressive sci-fi metal pioneers Voivod have unveiled the new single “The End Of Dormancy (Symphonique)” alongside an official visualizer ahead of the release of their orchestral live album Symphonique, arriving June 5, 2026 via Century Media Records.
Recorded live on June 4, 2025, at the Grand Théâtre de Québec alongside the Quebec Symphony Orchestra, Symphonique captures twelve Voivod classics reimagined through a cinematic orchestral lens across 73 minutes.
New Single: “The End Of Dormancy (Symphonique)”
The new visualizer for ““The End Of Dormancy (Symphonique)” was created by Cloud Motion Design and highlights one of the album’s most dramatic compositions.
Guitarist Daniel Mongrain (“Chewy”) described the track as being inspired by classic Roman naval battle scenes from 1950s and 1960s films, saying the orchestral arrangement finally realized the original vision behind the song.
Drummer and founding member Michel Langevin (“Away”) called Symphonique “the closest we’ve ever come to sounding like a dystopian sci-fi movie soundtrack,” describing the release as a longtime dream for the band.
The album follows Voivod’s acclaimed Juno Award-winning studio album Synchro Anarchy (2022) and their 40th anniversary release Morgöth Tales (2023).

2026 European Tour
Voivod will support the release with extensive touring throughout Europe, including festival appearances and UK/Ireland dates with Midnight and Cryptosis.
The band also confirmed a special 2027 orchestral performance in Chicoutimi, Quebec, with the Orchestre Symphonique du Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean.
