WALLS OF JERICHO have announced their long-awaited return with their first new studio album in years, System Error: Humanity, set for release on November 13, 2026 via Napalm Records. Alongside the announcement, the Detroit metallic hardcore pioneers have unveiled the album’s lead single, “The Ascent,” accompanied by an official music video.
The new track delivers everything fans have come to expect from WALLS OF JERICHO—dissonant riffs, crushing breakdowns, and relentless aggression—while carrying a message of personal growth and self-reflection.
Vocalist Candace Kucsulain explained the meaning behind the single:
“‘The Ascent’ is a crushing blend of dissonant riffs, massive breakdowns, and raw intensity. Lyrically, it’s about confronting yourself one hard truth at a time, shedding ego, silencing the noise, and discovering that real strength isn’t found at the summit, but in the discipline and honesty it takes to climb. Because growth begins where comfort ends.”
Widely regarded as one of the most influential bands in metallic hardcore, WALLS OF JERICHO helped shape the modern metalcore movement with landmark releases including The Bound Feed The Gagged (1999) and All Hail The Dead (2004). The band’s later albums—With Devils Amongst Us All, The American Dream, and No One Can Save You From Your Self—further expanded their global reach while cementing their legacy within the genre.

Despite years spent relentlessly touring major festivals such as Louder Than Life, Hellfest, Tied Down, and Furnace Fest, the band has remained absent from the studio until now. System Error: Humanity marks their highly anticipated return, promising a collection of songs that are as confrontational and uncompromising as ever while staying true to the sound and ideals that have defined WALLS OF JERICHO for more than two decades.
