Swedish melodic black metal band Wormwood, formed in 2014 in Stockholm, has unveiled a lyric video for their single Thousand Doorless Rooms, the fifth track from their critically acclaimed album The Star, released on May 31, 2025, via Sound Pollution.
The song explores a chaotic journey between fractured states of mind in a universe facing annihilation. The Star, mixed and mastered by Sverker Widgren at Wing Studios, concludes the band’s ‘Trilogy of Death,’ following Nattarvet (2019) and Arkivet (2021), which addressed the 19th-century Nordic famine and humanity’s downfall, respectively. The current lineup includes Tobias Rydsheim (guitar), Jerry Engström (guitar), Felix Lans (vocals), Joakim Karlsson (bass), and Oscar Thollander (drums). Nine, the band’s lyricist, states, “‘The Star’ is the last gasp of a universe we didn’t deserve. With this album, we invite our fans to join us on a cosmic odyssey, exploring the depths of despair and the peace that follows.” The album is available on streaming platforms and as a double LP vinyl with a gatefold sleeve.
