Connecticut hardcore legends 100 Demons have returned with Embrace the Black Light, their first new full-length album in more than two decades. The highly anticipated record is available now through Closed Casket Activities.
Marking the band’s long-awaited third studio album, Embrace the Black Light finds 100 Demons reaffirming their status as one of hardcore’s most uncompromising and influential acts. Built on the crushing foundation that defined the group’s legacy while expanding their sonic palette, the album delivers twelve tracks of unrelenting aggression, atmosphere, and hard-earned evolution.
To coincide with the album’s release, the band has unveiled a music video for album opener “The Nightmare,” a track that immediately showcases the ferocity and intensity that have made 100 Demons a cornerstone of metallic hardcore for more than 25 years.
Praised by critics ahead of its release, the album has already earned strong endorsements across the heavy music community. Knotfest called it “a triumphant return,” while Stereogum described it as “some of the heaviest music that you will encounter anytime soon.” VICE summed it up more bluntly: “The beatdown boys are back in f**king town.”
Written by Pete Morcey, Rich Rosa, Rick Brayall, and Jeremy Braddock, with longtime collaborator Sean Martin returning to the fold, Embrace the Black Light was carefully assembled throughout 2025. Rather than rushing the process, the band allowed each song to develop organically, resulting in what may be the most fully realized release of their career.
The album was recorded at Silver Bullet Studios in Burlington, Connecticut, and produced by Greg Thomas. Thomas also handled recording duties alongside engineer Chris Teti, helping shape a record that balances the band’s trademark heaviness with new layers of depth and texture.
While songs such as “The Nightmare” deliver the devastating riffs and breakdowns fans expect, Embrace the Black Light explores broader dynamics throughout its runtime, adding atmosphere and nuance without sacrificing intensity.
In support of the release, 100 Demons will appear at a series of U.S. dates throughout the summer.
