AVATAR Unveil New Single “Crying Fire” As Global Touring Continues Through 2026

Swedish metal band Avatar have released a brand-new standalone single, “Crying Fire,” accompanied by an official music video. The track arrives as the band continues its extensive world tour in support of last year’s album Don’t Go In The Forest and prepares for a busy international schedule that includes dates supporting Metallica.

According to frontman Johannes Eckerström, the song was originally written and recorded during the Don’t Go In The Forest sessions but intentionally held back from the album.

“What if we saved the best for later? What if we kept this gem away from the world for a while?”

Eckerström describes the song as a deeply emotional piece centered on endurance, pain, and passionate love, calling it one of the band’s most personal and powerful recordings.

A Song Too Strong To Leave Behind

Rather than serving as a leftover album track, “Crying Fire” stands on its own as a major statement from the band. Eckerström explains that the song carries a “relentless firestorm of emotions,” touching on themes that resonate deeply with him while leaving room for listeners to interpret its meaning for themselves.

The release extends the creative universe of Don’t Go In The Forest, an album that further expanded Avatar’s theatrical and adventurous approach to heavy metal.

A Band That Refuses To Stand Still

Since the release of Don’t Go In The Forest on Halloween, Avatar has completed extensive headline runs across North America and Europe, including their largest-ever headline performance in Mexico City. Festival appearances at major events such as Welcome To Rockville and Sonic Temple further cemented the band’s reputation as one of modern metal’s most captivating live acts.

The group is currently touring Europe and performing select shows with Metallica before heading to Australia, New Zealand, the UK, and additional European dates throughout 2026.

The World Of Avatar

Formed in Sweden by drummer John Alfredsson and guitarist Jonas Jarlsby, Avatar has evolved into one of heavy music’s most distinctive artistic forces. Combining theatrical storytelling, progressive ambition, and arena-sized hooks, the band continually pushes beyond traditional metal boundaries while remaining firmly rooted in powerful riffs and unforgettable performances.

Their music incorporates everything from choirs and orchestral arrangements to synthesizers, brass instruments, piano, cello, and viola, all in service of their ever-expanding creative vision.
