Artwork and layout were created by Kim Diaz Holm, known for his visceral live art capturing 1349’s fiery performances since 2012.
Formed in 1997 by Ravn and Seidemann, 1349 rose from the ashes of Norway’s black metal underground to reclaim the genre’s grim and primal roots. Joined by Archaon on guitars and Frost (Satyricon) on drums, the band has set fire to stages at Wacken Open Air, Hellfest, and beyond, touring alongside legends like Cannibal Corpse and Carcass.
Now, with Winter Mass, 1349 delivers an hour-long testament to their legacy, a live ritual born in their homeland’s darkness, filled with infernal intensity and unyielding precision.
“I will always be here / In all ways in all times,” snarls Ravn on I Am Abomination. After nearly three decades, 1349 remain the torchbearers of true Norwegian black metal’s eternal fire.
