Finnish symphonic metal veterans AMBERIAN DAWN have unveiled “Moon,” the fourth and final single from their upcoming studio album, Temptation’s Gates, set for release on June 26 via Napalm Records. The track arrives alongside an official music video and offers another glimpse into the band’s evolving sound with new vocalist Nicole Willerton.
Combining the band’s trademark symphonic grandeur with blast beat-driven intensity, “Moon” balances soaring melodies, prominent keyboard arrangements, and dynamic guitar work before culminating in an unexpected and aggressive finale. The song also marks a first for AMBERIAN DAWN, featuring growled vocals as part of the band’s increasingly heavy direction.
Composer and band leader Tuomas Seppälä explained that the song was written shortly after Willerton joined the lineup and was intentionally crafted to preserve a dark and haunting atmosphere. He noted that introducing growled vocals felt natural for the composition and praised Willerton’s ability to deliver the necessary intensity and emotion.
For Willerton, “Moon” explores themes of hope and inner peace in a troubled world. She describes the moon as a guiding light and a symbol of beauty that reminds listeners to appreciate life’s simple wonders, even during difficult times.
Temptation’s Gates marks a significant milestone for AMBERIAN DAWN, serving as the first full-length release featuring Willerton on vocals. According to Seppälä, the album rekindled the excitement he experienced while creating the band’s earliest material, inspiring a heavier and more guitar-driven approach while maintaining the melodic identity that has defined the group’s career.
The album showcases a broader musical palette than previous releases, blending symphonic metal foundations with modern influences and heavier arrangements. Tracks such as “Unchained” feature Willerton’s growls alongside her clean vocals, while songs like “Eternal Flame,” “Life is Art,” and “The Night is Waiting for Me” further demonstrate the band’s renewed creative direction.
To celebrate the album’s release, AMBERIAN DAWN will perform a special record release show in Helsinki on June 28 as part of the official afterparty for the renowned Tuska Festival.
