For the eternal glory of Dundee, Scottish power metal adventurers GLORYHAMMER have officially announced their fifth studio album, Space 1993: Wrath of Kor-Virliath, set for release on October 16 through Napalm Records.
Serving as a direct sequel to 2015’s Space 1992: Rise of the Chaos Wizards, the new album continues the ever-expanding saga of the McFife dynasty. The story follows Angus McFife V, last introduced in the 2022 single “Fly Away,” as he embarks on a perilous journey through spacetime to the distant future of 1993, where a new cosmic battle for the fate of the galaxy awaits.
According to the band:
“Mighty warriors, rejoice! The almighty GLORYHAMMER return triumphantly with a new chapter in the long and tumultuous history of the Intergalactic Empire of Fife. Multidimensional wormholes, abandoned space stations, and epic battles await at the final frontier of Space 1993.”
Produced by the band and mixed by renowned producer Jacob Hansen, whose credits include work with Volbeat and Amaranthe, the album promises the most stylistically diverse GLORYHAMMER release to date. While remaining rooted in the band’s signature power metal sound, Space 1993: Wrath of Kor-Virliath explores influences ranging from thrash metal and synth rock to cinematic orchestral arrangements.
The album opens with “Ultra Portam Astralem” before launching into “Ultimate Sacrifice,” which introduces the threat posed by Kor-Virliath following the failure of Zargothrax’s previous plans. Previously released single “On a Quest for Aberdeen” finds its place within the larger narrative, while songs such as “Die with a Sword in My Hand,” “Silver Talon,” and “Warriors of Auchtermuchty” continue the band’s tradition of heroic battles, larger-than-life characters, and unforgettable choruses.
The story culminates with the album’s epic finale, “The Celestial Warhost of the Dundonian Empire Marches to Space Against the Dark Sorcerer: Final Assault on Battlemoon X-22,” a nearly 13-minute composition divided into four theatrical chapters and featuring multiple narrative characters engaged in a galaxy-defining confrontation.

2026 Album Release Tour
To celebrate the release, GLORYHAMMER will embark on a major European headline tour alongside fellow power metal acts Majestica and Arion. The trek begins on October 16 in Toulouse, France, and will visit more than 30 cities across Europe and the United Kingdom, including stops in Madrid, Hamburg, Helsinki, Berlin, Vienna, Paris, London, and Glasgow.
