Portland, Oregon-based genre-bending band DRY WEDDING have unveiled “Moths,” the latest single and video from their forthcoming third full-length album, The Back Of Beyond, due out July 31 through Vesperian and Metal Blade Records.
Blending elements of post-punk, gothic country, noise rock, black metal, and doom, DRY WEDDING continue to refine their distinctive sound on what promises to be their most atmospheric and dynamic release to date. Following the previously released single “Arrowhead,” the new track showcases a more restrained approach while maintaining the intensity and emotional weight that have become hallmarks of the band’s music.
Vocalist and guitarist Davey Ferchow explained the creative direction behind the song:
“As we began writing our third album, we wanted to push certain sonic elements further than ever. ‘Moths’ was an exercise in patience and restraint, and it quickly became a band favorite.”
Ferchow added that the accompanying video combines raw performance footage with surreal, Lynchian-inspired imagery to reflect the song’s themes of hidden darkness and personal revelation. Directed by Olivia Bayer, the visual counterpart emphasizes the tension between control and collapse that lies at the heart of the track.
Recorded and mixed by Adam Pike at Toadhouse Recording and mastered by Adam Gonsalves at Telegraph Mastering, The Back Of Beyond continues DRY WEDDING’s exploration of atmosphere, texture, and narrative-driven songwriting. The album artwork was created by Adam Burke of Nightjar Illustration, with layout and design by John Haughm.
The album will be available on CD, cassette, digital formats, and vinyl editions in both black and sea blue variants.
