Finnish metal veterans Amorphis have released a new live video for “The Lantern”, a standout track from their fifteenth studio album Borderland, out now via RPM.
Watch the video here:
Originally released in September 2025, Borderland marks another milestone in the band’s 35-year career, showcasing a balance of melodic depth and dynamic storytelling. The album also represents the band’s first collaboration with producer Jacob Hansen, bringing a refreshed perspective to their signature sound.
“The Lantern” draws from mythological themes, channeling imagery of nocturnal journeys along Tuonela’s black river. Guitarist Esa Holopainen comments on the track’s atmosphere:
“The atmosphere on ‘The Lantern’ is dramatic and evocative. From sonic depth to live energy, you can hear the emotional arcs and see them on stage in every frame.”
The newly released live clip leans into that cinematic quality, pairing the band’s performance with immersive visuals that emphasize the song’s haunting tone.

Borderland has received strong attention from international press, with critics highlighting its textural richness and the band’s continued evolution while maintaining their trademark atmospherics.
Amorphis will carry that momentum through an extensive run of international shows, including major European festival appearances and upcoming tours across Japan, Australia, and Latin America.
