Old-school death metal veterans Jungle Rot have released a new single and video, “Maniacal”, taken from their upcoming 12th studio album Cruel Face Of War, due out May 15 via Unique Leader Records.

Frontman Dave Matrise (vocals, guitars) describes the track as a straight-ahead assault built on groove and intensity:
“‘Maniacal’ is one of those songs that just hits you in the face over and over when you’re listening to it. It is full of nonstop groove and violence just the way we like it…”
He continues:
“I’ve always been a fan of music with more of a groovier side to it. ‘Maniacal’ is the perfect blend of old school groove to make it a fan favorite.
When writing ‘Maniacal’ I wanted it to be more of an in-the-pocket kinda song, with a drum beat that gets your head banging without even trying.”
Cruel Face Of War will be released in multiple formats here, with the previously released single “Apocalyptic Dawn” available here.
The album was produced by Chris Djuricic at Bell City Sound Company and mixed/mastered by Dan Swanö at Unisound Studio.
Matrise adds that reaching album number 12 marks a major milestone for the band, crediting fans and bandmates for their longevity while promising the record “will not disappoint”, calling it full of “crushing grooves and violent hooks.”
Following the album’s release, Jungle Rot will embark on a European summer run of shows, including festival appearances at Obscene Extreme, Pitfest, Alcatraz Festival, and more.
