Swedish power metal warriors Bloodbound have unveiled the official video for Defenders Of Jerusalem, the latest single taken from their forthcoming album Field Of Swords, due out November 21st, 2025 via Napalm Records. Watch the video here:
Keyboardist Fredrik Bergh hails the track as one of the strongest on the record:
“On every Bloodbound album, Tomas always delivers outstanding tracks; this is one of them. It’s going to be a killer song to play live as well.”
Guitarist Tomas Olsson, who penned the track, explains the theme:
“‘Defenders of Jerusalem’ is a song about the siege of Jerusalem in 1187, where Balian of Ibelin bravely defended the city against Saladin’s overwhelming forces.”
Field Of Swords – A New Chapter in Bloodbound‘s Epic Journey
Marking their first release with Napalm Records, Field Of Swords is Bloodbound‘s eleventh studio album and celebrates 20 years since their debut. While previous records explored the Viking era, the new concept album shifts to the Middle Ages, bringing tales of war, sacrifice, and perseverance to life through soaring melodies and crushing power metal.
The album spans 11 battle hymns, from speed-driven riffs to epic, story-driven tracks. Highlights include the thunderous title track Field Of Swords, the heroic anthem As Empires Fall, and The Nine Crusades, which features a guest appearance from Brittney Slayes of Canadian metallers Unleash The Archers.
