Barcelona’s death/doom metal band BOCC has signed with Horror Pain Gore Death Productions for their new compilation, Obrint El Taüt, set for release on June 13, 2025. Announced yesterday, May 12, 2025, the album is now available for pre-order on CD and digital formats at shop.horrorpaingoredeath.com and hpgd.bandcamp.com, respectively, with a Spotify pre-save at ffm.to/bocc. Merch includes t-shirts, a trucker hat, and bundles.
Formed in 2019, BOCC—whose name translates to “goat” in Catalan—delivers old-school death/doom inspired by the likes of Autopsy, Bolt Thrower, and Winter. Obrint El Taüt (Catalan for “Opening the Coffin”) compiles their three EPs: Al La Forca, Santa Eulàlia, and La Forja Dels Cranis, spanning 12 tracks and over 75 minutes. The collection includes crushing tracks like “La Nit Mes Negra” and a cover of Purtenance’s “Black Vision.” The lead single, “Santa Eulalia,” a 6:24 slab of plodding, cavernous doom, is streaming now on YouTube.
