Celestial Sanctuary Unleashes Live Music Video for “Puddles of You Reflect the Filth Within”

UK death metal band Celestial Sanctuary has released a live music video for their track “Puddles of You Reflect the Filth Within,” from their Visions of Stagnant Blood EP, out now via Metal Blade Records. The video, filmed and edited by Kiefer Passey with camera operators Jordan Noon and Steph Evans, captures the band’s raw energy across three distinct venues: The Underworld, Download Festival, and The Electric Ballroom, all during their 2025 tour dates. The band shared, “Live music videos, in our opinion, are the best… it really gives you a sense of what you’re in for when it comes to the most important aspect of metal… the live show.” They aimed to showcase their growth and confidence, having previously done a DIY video with fan footage, by capturing “the insanity and brutality” of their live performances in varied environments—a sweaty Underworld gig, an 11 AM Download Festival slot playing to new audiences, and a high-profile support slot for Kerry King at The Electric Ballroom alongside a tour with Incantation.

Formed in 2019 in Cambridge, England, Celestial Sanctuary—Thomas Cronin (vocals/guitar), Matt Burrows (guitar), Andy Grimes (bass), and James Grove (drums)—blends influences from Carcass, Dying Fetus, and Cannibal Corpse into their brutal sound. Their 2023 sophomore album Insatiable Thirst For Torment earned critical acclaim, with Distorted Sound giving it a 10/10, calling it a precise fusion of death metal elements, while Blabbermouth hailed it as “old-school death metal, fully rejuvenated.” Kerrang praised their understanding of the genre’s grotesque essence, and Everything Is Noise described it as a “rancid and bloodied foreskin tapestry… fun as hell.” The Visions of Stagnant Blood EP, released April 11, 2025, features four tracks, including the title track and “Gavage of the Vile,” noted for its blackened, cosmic undertones.

The band recently signed with Metal Blade Records, stating, “We are chuffed to bits… to be a part of that history and stand on a roster alongside the best artists in the world of metal is an honor that isn’t lost on us.” They’re currently writing their next album, promising their “most brutal, unhinged” material yet.
