Tasmanian technical death metal band Psycroptic have signed with Metal Blade Records, marking a new chapter as they prepare their ninth studio album. The band—Dave Haley (drums), Joe Haley (guitars), Jason Peppiatt (vocals), Todd Stern (bass), with Jason Keyser (Origin) as session vocalist—dropped their blistering single “Architects Of Extinction” alongside a music video directed by Robert Brens, showcasing their signature dense riffs and rhythmic precision. Joe Haley shared, “Metal Blade has always represented the pinnacle of heavy music… we’re beyond honored to announce that we’re officially joining the Metal Blade family,” while Stern added, “Get ready for the golden age of Tasmania’s most prolific metal band!”

Formed in 1999 in Hobart, Psycroptic has been a global force in tech-death for 25 years, evolving from underground classics like The Isle Of Disenchantment (2001) to their refined 2022 release Divine Council. They’ve toured over 40 countries, playing with bands like Nile and Deicide, and are now set for a summer tour starting June 6 in Hobart at Republic Bar, hitting Australian cities like Melbourne and Sydney, before heading to Europe for festivals like Brutal Assault (August 7, Jaromer, CZ) and Alcatraz (August 9, Kortrijk, BE).
