Clocktowers Unleash Powerful New Single Ashes from Debut Album Genesis

Rising Ohio rock/metal duo Clocktowers have released their searing new single Ashes, the centerpiece of their upcoming debut album Genesis. Formed in 2022 by Tarek Puska and Dakota Logan after a chance reunion in Reily, Ohio, the band channels decades of influence into a sound that is bold, urgent, and entirely their own.

Listen to Ashes:

Ashes captures that identity with striking clarity. Opening with a hypnotic riff, the track surges forward on articulate guitars, hard-driving rhythms, and vocals that balance grit with vulnerability. Shifting between groove and intensity, the song remains unpredictable and alive from start to finish.

Lyrically, Ashes was born from personal upheaval, written in the aftermath of a decade-long marriage. Themes of separation, regret, and reconciliation are delivered with raw honesty, underscoring the track’s emotional weight.

For the single, Clocktowers were joined by Jason Viebrooks (Heathen, Grip Inc., Exhorder) on bass and guitar alongside Dakota, and Todd J. Farler on drums. While Genesis remains the vision of the founding duo, with Tarek on vocals and Dakota handling all instruments, these contributions sharpened the single without diluting its authenticity.

The accompanying video deepens the intimacy, featuring Tarek delivering the lyrics directly to his wife off-camera. Its emotional resonance pairs seamlessly with the single artwork, extending the deeply personal thread that inspired the song.

With Genesis on the horizon, Ashes stands as both a statement of intent and a bold introduction to Clocktowers, a band that thrives on chemistry, contrast, and unfiltered conviction.

Formed in 2022, Clocktowers unites vocalist Tarek Puska (b. 1969) and multi-instrumentalist Dakota Logan (b. 1995), whose 25-year age gap fuels a rare creative chemistry. Their sound blends the grit of classic heavy rock with modern edge and experimentation, drawing on influences from AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Ghost, Type O Negative, Kiss, and Metallica.

What began as an impromptu jam session quickly evolved into a two-year writing partnership, producing their debut full-length Genesis. The record pulses with heavy riffs, soaring melodies, and introspective lyrics rooted in lived experience, proving that authentic, no-bullshit rock and metal still cuts deep.
