Cold Steel Announce Debut Album Discipline & Punish

Tampa’s rising hardcore thrash unit Cold Steel have officially announced their debut full-length, Discipline & Punish, due out November 7 on Spinefarm Records. The record was produced by Arthur Rizk (Power Trip, Blood Incantation, Cavalera) and features ten tracks of unrelenting aggression.

To mark the announcement, the band has dropped a new single, No Escape, accompanied by a music video:

On the track, the band comments:

“‘No Escape’ focuses on the struggle of being yourself, the trap of becoming something you’re not, and the balance between authenticity and survival… There’s a lot in this track about identity, pressure, control, and realizing that if you don’t confront what you’ve been running from, it will eventually catch up to you.”

Discipline & Punish Tracklist

  1. No Escape
  2. Protocol
  3. Front to Enemy
  4. Blacksmith of Damnation
  5. Killing Season
  6. Vantage Point
  7. Return to Agony
  8. Fever Dreaming
  9. Smoking Mirrors
  10. The Coldest Death

Cold Steel‘s sound, a volatile fusion of thrash riffs, hardcore breakdowns, and metalcore ferocity that they call “aggressive metal”, comes fully into focus on Discipline & Punish. The band worked alongside Arthur Rizk, who praised their commitment and collaboration, and also received guidance from Trivium’s Matt Heafy, who assisted with pre-production and arrangements.

Heafy calls Cold Steel “a band who could change the face and sound of heavy music… They live authentically and unapologetically in their own world and are ready to show the masses what they do best.”

Formed in Tampa, Florida in 2021, Cold Steel quickly built a reputation through their successful EPs Will of Spiritual Cleansing (2021) and Deeper Into Greater Pain (2023). Their early momentum saw them open for Trivium at just their fourth show, later sharing stages with Obituary and Weekend Nachos. Known for their uncompromising energy both on record and on stage, the six-piece is now poised to break out globally with their Spinefarm debut.
