Dutch symphonic metallers DELAIN are entering a bold new chapter, announcing a major creative transformation that brings together an extraordinary collection of musicians and vocalists from across the metal scene. The announcement coincides with the release of their new single, “We Are Fire,” featuring FABIENNE ERNI, NOA GRUMAN, and PAOLO RIBALDINI.

A new creative direction for DELAIN
At the center of this transformation remains founding keyboardist and songwriter Martijn Westerholt, who continues to lead the band’s musical vision. Joining him as DELAIN’s core members are Ludovico Cioffi, Ronald Landa, and Sander Zoer.
The new structure allows the band to incorporate a rotating cast of vocalists and instrumentalists, giving individual songs and performances their own distinct character while maintaining DELAIN’s recognizable symphonic metal identity.

Speaking about the meaning behind the song, Westerholt explains:
“‘We Are Fire’ is about the inner fire that keeps us moving forward, even when the path ahead is uncertain. It’s about daring to cross boundaries, and refusing to give up on what we believe in. To me, it captures the spirit of what DELAIN is becoming. A place where different voices and personalities can come together, each bringing something unique, while sharing the same fire.”

DELAIN announce February 2027 European tour
Fans will have their first opportunity to experience DELAIN’s new lineup configuration live when the band embarks on a European tour in February 2027.
The upcoming run will feature INFECTED RAIN as special guests and PERSEFONE as support, bringing together three distinct approaches to modern metal.
The tour will visit Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands, concluding on February 11 at 013 in Tilburg.
Additional international dates and countries are expected to be announced in the coming months.
With an impressive collection of collaborators, a newly defined creative structure, and fresh music already arriving, DELAIN are positioning themselves for one of the most ambitious transformations in their career.
