Edenbridge Announce New Album Set The Dark On Fire, Out January 16, 2026, via Steamhammer/SPV

Austrian symphonic metal band Edenbridge have rejoined Steamhammer/SPV and will release their 11th studio album, Set The Dark On Fire, on January 16, 2026. Led by mastermind Arne “Lanvall” Stockhammer (guitar/keyboards) and vocalist Sabine Edelsbacher, the band promises a signature blend of powerful metal, anthemic melodies, and symphonic grandeur, with a heavier edge on guitars, bass, and drums. Lanvall states, “Set The Dark On Fire sees us remain true to ourselves stylistically while making some important adjustments with our long-standing mixing and mastering engineer Karl Groom (Threshold). The result is the most dynamic, heavy, and melodic work to date in the history of Edenbridge.”

Three singles with music videos will precede the album: Cosmic Embrace (September 19, 2025), Where The Wild Things Are (November 7, 2025), and the title track Set The Dark On Fire (December 12, 2025). Studio recordings, mixing, mastering, and cover artwork are complete, with the full tracklist to be revealed soon. The band is also preparing a European tour across Austria, Germany, Holland, and Switzerland from February to mid-March 2026, with dates forthcoming.

Steamhammer/SPV Return: Lanvall expressed enthusiasm about the renewed partnership, noting, “We’re delighted to release our new album with the support of Olly Hahn and his dedicated team again. Formed in 1998 in Linz, Austria, Edenbridge—anchored by Sabine Edelsbacher’s operatic vocals and Lanvall’s multi-instrumental vision—has been a symphonic metal cornerstone for over two decades. With 10 studio albums, including Sunrise in Eden (2000), The Bonding (2013), and Shangri-La (2022), they’ve earned a loyal following alongside acts like Nightwish and Epica. Their music blends celestial themes, intricate orchestrations, and progressive metal, with Velvet Thunder praising their “sumptuous symphonic/Gothic metal” and unique style.
