Electric Citizen Premiere New Album EC4, Out June 27, 2025 via Heavy Psych Sounds

Ohio’s 70s-inspired heavy psych rockers Electric Citizen have premiered their fourth studio album, EC4, in its entirety ahead of its official release on June 27, 2025, through Heavy Psych Sounds. Stream the album now online, marking a triumphant return after a seven-year hiatus since their last release, Helltown (2018). Described by Bandcamp Daily as “a ‘70s-style hard rock hammer down on an acid-soaked heavy-psych anvil,” EC4 blends vintage psychedelia with raw heavy rock, featuring Laura Dolan’s mesmerizing vocals and hypnotic grooves.

Crafted over several years, EC4 was written by Ross Dolan with contributions from the full band and recorded at Candyland Studio in Dayton, KY, with engineers Mike Montgomery and John Hoffman. The album was mixed by Collin Dupuis (Lana Del Rey, The Black Keys) in Detroit and mastered by JJ Golden (Ty Segall, Calexico) at Golden Mastering in California, with artwork by Neil Krug (Lana Del Rey, Tame Impala, Weyes Blood), who also designed their 2014 debut Sateen.

The tracklist includes:

  1. Mire
  2. Static Vision
  3. Smokey
  4. Traveler’s Moon
  5. Tuning Tree
  6. Moss
  7. Lizard Brain
  8. Other Planets
  9. Flower of Salt

Formed in 2012 in Cincinnati, Electric Citizen—Ross Dolan (guitar), Laura Dolan (vocals), Nick Vogelpohl (bass), Nate Wagner (drums), and Owen Lee (keyboards)—have built a reputation with three acclaimed albums, touring with acts like Pentagram and Fu Manchu. EC4 is hailed as a rebirth, channeling influences from Uriah Heep, Coven, Deep Purple, and Blood Ceremony, and positioning the band as a leading force in classic heavy rock.
