Bay Area thrash metal veterans Forbidden have unleashed the video for their first new song in over 15 years, Divided By Zero, available to watch online. Released on June 26, 2025, the track marks a powerful comeback for the band, blending classic thrash with modern energy. The band describes the opening riff, crafted by founding guitarist Craig Locicero, as the spark for this rebirth, with lyrics tackling the erosion of civility through divisive institutional control, pointing to all involved in manipulation without taking sides.
The dystopian video, created by Ethan Renoe at Crumb Hill, depicts a haunting narrative of robots and monsters symbolizing brainwashing and societal breakdown. Forbidden notes, “It represents the bridge between classic and modern Forbidden. Recorded raw with no samples or triggers, just a singer, two guitars, bass, and drums—new blood and fire.” Vocalist Norman Skinner steps into the dynamic role once held by Russ Anderson, joined by Locicero, bassist Matt Camacho, guitarist Dan Mongrain (Voivod), and drummer Chris Kontos.
